Rock arch walk
A relaxed walk through the boulders to Spitzkoppe’s natural arch.
Spitzkoppe

What to expect
The walk starts at the foot of the granite domes. Your guide leads you along sandy paths and game trails that wind between house-sized boulders, at an easy pace with plenty of stops.
Along the way you learn to read the place: butter trees and euphorbias growing out of cracks in the rock, shade shelters under the overhangs, shallow rock pools that hold rainwater, and the tracks animals left in the sand overnight.
The path ends at Spitzkoppe’s natural rock arch, a curved bridge of granite that frames the plains and the Pontok peaks behind it. Late-afternoon light turns it deep orange, so there is time to sit, take photos and enjoy the quiet before you walk back.
